A Solid Block of Sky
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “A Solid Block of Sky.” This design plan uses fiber optic tapers to generate an image of the sky projected onto the surface of a monolith creating a section of "dislocated sky.” However, the image is imperfect, as some fiber optic tapers are left out to represent the victims lost on 9/11. The monolith is placed between the two footprints.
