- Missing poster for Giovanna Galletta Gambale. The poster is printed in color and has a photograph of Gambale in the center with printed text: "We need your help | Giovanna 'Gennie' Gambale | 27 years old 5'6" | Brown hair, brown eyes | Last seen on 102nd fl of World Trade Center II | (E-Speed/Cantor-Fitzgerald) | Call with any information." The poster has some tape residue and is partially torn at the top. "102nd" is crossed out with "105th" written in pen and "II" is crossed out and replaced with "I" written in pen.

- Lifelong Brooklyn resident Giovanna Gambale, known as Gennie, lived with her parents and siblings in Carroll Gardens. She enjoyed soap operas, New York Mets baseball games, and time with her boyfriend, Tom. On September 11, Giovanna was at work on the North Tower’s 105th floor at Cantor Fitzgerald’s subsidiary eSpeed, where she was a vice president in charge of conferences and events. She was 27 years old.
Curator's Comment
In the days following 9/11, relatives and friends of those who had not returned home from the World Trade Center posted missing person fliers at hospitals, family assistance centers, and public places throughout the city. As hope for survivors faded, the missing posters themselves became memorials.
Many families taped fliers to the walls both outside and inside of St. Vincent's Hospital, about a mile from the World Trade Center site. More than 300 posters were saved by the staff at the hospital and ultimately donated to the 9/11 Memorial Museum in 2010 when the hospital closed.
