Bracelet

- Metal memorial bracelet created in memory of the employees at Fiduciary Trust Company, including Anne Marie Martino-Cramer. The bracelet is engraved with the first initial and last name of every employee at Fiduciary Trust who died on September 11, 2001.
- Historical Notes
- Native New Yorker Anne Martino-Cramer lived in West Brighton, Staten Island, with her mother. A fan of the comic strip Peanuts, Anne collected Snoopy memorabilia and decorated her office with some of her collection. Anne worked for 27 years at Fiduciary Trust, where she was a tax specialist. On September 11, she was at her office on the 90th floor of the South Tower. Anne was 47 years old.
Curator's Comment
Building on a tradition begun during the Vietnam War era to remember American prisoners of war and those missing in action, bracelets bearing the names of victims emerged after 9/11 as a way to honor those killed in the attacks. Some bracelets also bear personal inscriptions and images, including the American flag, the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and insignia reflecting a victim’s status as a first responder. Whether worn by relatives and friends of the victim or by empathetic strangers, 9/11 memorial bracelets created an intimate connection to individual victims while also communicating a shared sense of loss and compassion.
