- Aluminum and acrylic pylon sign that stood outside the North Tower at the World Trade Center. "1 World Trade Center | The Port Authority of NY & NJ | Windows on the World | 107th Floor Restaurant" is stated on the sign.
- Historical Notes
- This sign marked an entrance to 1 World Trade Center, also known as the North Tower, and identified one of the building’s most prominent tenants, the restaurant Windows on the World. Also named on the sign is the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the interstate agency that created and managed the World Trade Center until July 24, 2001, when it signed a 99-year lease for the towers with Silverstein Properties. Removed and placed in storage before 9/11, the sign was spared destruction.
