Curator's Comment
Eileen Rice’s family remembered that she “always dressed in the latest fashions” and made scarves a signature part of her office wardrobe. Her brother described her presentation as “meticulous.” Both he and her daughter, Lesli, recalled that she devoted the same attention to her work. Lesli recounted how Eileen had taken leave from the workforce before computers were commonplace, only to return to an office where her coworkers were using them. She came to work early to learn the new technology, continuing to excel at the job she enjoyed.
