T-Shirt
- Description
- White T-shirt created in memory of Kenneth Thomas Watson for the 2013 Tunnel to Towers Run. The shirt includes a photograph of Watson, a graphic of an American flag and playing cards, and printed text: "Watson's Aces | In Loving Memory of Our 9/11 Hero | Firefighter Ken Watson | Engine 214/Ladder 111, Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, NYC." The logo for the Tunnels to Tower Run is also printed on the shirt.
- Historical Notes
- Kenneth Watson grew up in Smithtown on Long Island and lived there with his wife, Susan, and their four children. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and riding horses. He was an ironworker before becoming a firefighter with FDNY Engine Company 214. A cousin, Richard Muldowney, also served in the FDNY. On September 11, both responded to the towers. Firefighter Muldowney was 40 years old. Firefighter Watson was 39.
