- Description
- Field hockey trophy awarded to Jennifer Louise Fialko. The trophy is mounted on a clear plastic stand with four blue stars printed on each side and printed text at the top: "First Team | All County," and the Bergen County Women Coaches Association's logo in the center. The trophy includes an image of a field hockey goal, stick, and ball in the center and an engraved plaque at the bottom with text: "Jennifer Fialko | Defense."

- Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Jennifer Fialko lived in Teaneck. She had studied in Spain and was fluent in Spanish. Jennifer enjoyed playing softball and water-skiing. She had survived Hodgkin’s disease and was interested in nutrition and alternative medicine. Jennifer worked in client services at Aon Corporation. On September 11, she was at her office on the South Tower’s 92nd floor. She was 29 years old.
Curator's Comment
Jennifer Fialko was co-captain of the varsity field hockey team at her high school in Oradell, New Jersey, and continued to play as an adult. “She kept us old ladies going with a never give up or let down attitude,” one of her teammates wrote after 9/11. Jennifer had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease at age 24 but remained active during her illness, even pinch-hitting a home run in a softball championship game while undergoing chemotherapy. The 29-year-old was three years into remission by the summer of 2001, when she started a new job at Aon Corporation in the South Tower.
