T-Shirt
- Description
- Gray T-shirt created in memory of Michael Francis Lynch. On the left breast of the shirt is a Maltese cross emblem with a cartoon graphic of two men in bunker gear and printed text: "The Gun Hill Gang." Text printed above the cross reads: "Engine 62 | Ladder 32." "FDNY" is printed below. The back of the shirt includes an image of the Twin Towers with an American flag and an Irish flag on either side with a blue Maltese cross in the center with printed text: "L32 | Box 8087 | 9-11-2001 | 2315 | 5-5-5-5 | FDNY." "In Loving Memory" is printed above the image and "Michael Lynch | Ladder 32" is printed below.
- Historical Notes
- One of 10 siblings, Michael Lynch was born in the Bronx and continued to live there as an adult. He and his fiancée, Stephanie, were to marry in November 2001. A firefighter with FDNY Ladder Company 32, Michael was working with Engine Company 40 on September 11. Firefighter Lynch was seen in a stairwell in 4 World Trade Center, heading toward the South Tower. He was 30 years old.
