- Memorial bookmark created in memory of Stephen G. Harrell. The bookmark includes a photograph and printed text: "Lieutenant | Stephen G. Harrell | September 11, 2001" followed by a poem. The reverse side of the bookmark features an image of a sunset. A yellow tassel is attached to the top of the bookmark.
- Historical Notes
- Stephen Harrell grew up on Staten Island. A singer and songwriter, he played music by ear and had three pianos in the Warwick, New York, home that he shared with his wife, Margaret, and their daughter. Stephen and his brother Harvey Harrell were both FDNY lieutenants. Steven served with Ladder Company 10. On September 11, both brothers perished at the towers. Harvey was 49 years old. Stephen was 44.
