- Handwritten note on a small piece of lined notebook paper left at the 9/11 Memorial in memory of Melissa Cándida Doi. The note reads: "God bless you Melissa You're voice calms me daily You are in heaven now. — Hugo Rivas."

- Born in the Bronx, Melissa Doi lived with her mother in the borough’s Throngs Neck section. Melissa had studied ballet and had considered careers in dance and art before joining IQ Financial Systems and becoming a senior manager. On September 11, Melissa spoke at length with a 9-1-1 operator, describing conditions on the South Tower’s 83rd floor, where she was trapped. She was 32 years old.
Curator's Comment
This note was left on the S-46 parapet of the South Pool on the 9/11 Memorial for Melissa Cándida Doi on September 11, 2015. The note was folded and placed in the hollow of the name.
