Lapel Pin

- Sterling silver circular memorial lapel pin with an engraved representation of a detail of a trident, a reference to the facade of the Twin Towers. The pin is enclosed in a black jewelry box with a paper insert in the lid with printed text: "The bombing of the World Trade Center on February 26, 1993 subjected Port Authority staff to a most difficult test. Our collective strength, bravery and perseverance overcame the tragic events of that day and became a defining moment in our agency's history. This commemorative pin is dedicated to the memory of John DiGiovanni, Robert Kirkpatrick, Stephen Knapp, William Macko, Wilfredo Mercado and Monica Smith. I urge you to wear it proudly." The statement is signed by Stanley Brezenoff.

- After the 1993 bombing, Port Authority employees memorialized the six people who perished at their headquarters, four of them colleagues. Port Authority Executive Director Stanley Brezenoff arranged for the presentation of memorial pins to the agency’s employees.
