Hard Hat
- Description
- Plastic bump-style hard hat with cap-style brim and interior suspension. The hard hat is yellow with "PONYA" printed on the front in blue letters. An elastic chin strap is hooked over the brim of the hat.
- Historical Notes
- Dating from the 1970s, this hard hat was worn by Benjamin Pickover when he visited the top of the World Trade Center’s South Tower while it was still under construction. PONYA is an early acronym for Port of New York Authority (now Port Authority of New York and New Jersey).
