- Plastic hard hat with cap-style brim and interior ratchet suspension. The hard hat is yellow with "FAA" written on the front and back in fading black marker.
- Historical Notes
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector Michael Jesse spent two weeks sifting through debris from the World Trade Center site at Fresh Kills landfill in October, 2001. Dressed in hard hats, respirators, and Tyvek suits, FAA inspectors provided technical expertise and assistance in the search for the aircrafts’ “black boxes,” Flight Data Recorders (FDR), and Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR).
