Small American stick flag left at the 9/11 Memorial in memory of Nancy E. Perez. A handwritten note on the stripes reads: "In Loving Memory | 15th Anniv. | Nancy E. Perez | Thank you for being | such a wonderful | coworker & friend - I will never forget how you | & Arlene B. were comforting me | We still have our pending lunch date | We had for that Thursday. | Miss you God bless with love Haydee C. Lillo | 9/11/16."

- Born in Cuba, Nancy Perez moved to the United States in 1970 with her family. She settled in Secaucus, New Jersey, and enjoyed taking her parents to Broadway performances. She also practiced karate and learned American Sign Language to teach a karate class for deaf children. On September 11, Nancy, a Port Authority supervisor in customer relations, was on the North Tower’s 65th floor. She was 36 years old.
