- Blue T-shirt belonging to George DiPasquale. On the left breast of the shirt is a Maltese cross with the New York City skyline, Snoopy wearing a fire helmet and standing behind an eight ball, and printed text: "Mid-Town Hi-Rise" | FDNY | Engine 8 Ladder 2 | Battalion 8." On the back of the shirt is printed text: "Battalion 8 | FDNY | Mid-Town Hi-Rise | Engine 8 Ladder 2."
- Historical Notes
- Paterson, New Jersey, native George DiPasquale lived in Elm Park, Staten Island, with his wife, Melissa, and their one-year-old daughter. An elder in his Jehovah’s Witness congregation, George was a man of strong faith, inspiring his fellow firefighters in FDNY Ladder Company 2 to call him Holy Man. On September 11, Firefighter DiPasquale responded to the World Trade Center. He was 33 years old.
