T-Shirt

- Gray T-shirt created in memory of William J. McGovern. On the left breast of the shirt is an Irish Claddagh and printed text: "In Loving Memory | Chief William J. McGovern. On the back of the shirt is an image of a fire helmet with the number 2 on its front and with printed text: "Chief William J. McGovern | Forever in Our Hearts." Printed below the helmet are the ranks and locations of McGovern during his tenure in the FDNY: "Chief Battalion 2 | Captain Ladder 115 | Lieutenant Engine 258 | Firefighter Ladder 102 | Firefighter Engine 209."

- Mineola, Long Island, native William McGovern lived in Smithtown with his wife, Mary. They had two children—a grown son and a school-age daughter. William used his flexible hours as a firefighter to spend time with his children, serving as a class parent and coaching their sports teams. On September 11, Battalion Chief McGovern responded to the towers with FDNY’s Battalion 2. He was 49 years old.
