Baseball Cap
- Description
- Baseball cap from the Tunnels to Towers run held in memory of Steven Gerard Siller. The cap is white with a red bill and "FDNY" embroidered in red on the front. On the left side of the cap is an embroidered American flag and the date: "9-11-01." On the right side of the cap is embroidered: "Firefighter Steven Siller."
- Historical Notes
- Staten Island native Stephen Siller lived in West Brighton with his wife, Sarah, and their five children. After a 24-hour shift at FDNY Squad 1, he would often golf with his brothers, lunch with his wife, and play with his children before he slept. On September 11, Firefighter Siller called Sarah after his shift to tell her he would be late. He responded to the towers. He was 34 years old.
