- Memorial patch created in memory of Keith George Fairben. The patch has a bald eagle at the top with a banner and embroidered text: "September 11, 2001." "In Loving Memory 8001 8027" is embroidered in a scroll below the eagle. Below the scroll is an American flag with the logos for the Emergency Medical Service | New York Cornell | Columbia Presbyterian hospitals.
- Historical Notes
- Keith Fairben lived in his native Floral Park, Long Island, with his parents. Keith began volunteering at his local fire department at age 18 and rose to the rank of lieutenant. He made a career as a paramedic with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. On September 11, he responded to the World Trade Center with his ambulance partner. Keith was 24 years old.
