Bunker Coat

- FDNY-issued bunker coat belonging to Michael T. Carroll. The coat is black, extends past the waist, and has yellow reflective stripes on the arms, chest, and bottom. The coat is heavily worn and dirty.
- Historical Notes
- Native New Yorker Michael Carroll lived in Ridgewood, New Jersey, with his wife, Nancy, and their two children. He was known as a fun-loving, childlike parent and kept a shovel in his car for building sand castles at the beach. A 16-year veteran firefighter, Michael was assigned to FDNY Ladder Company 3. On September 11, Firefighter Carroll and his unit responded to the Twin Towers. He was 39 years old.
