Prayer Card
- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of Robert James Crawford and left at the 9/11 Memorial. The front of the card features a photograph of Crawford wearing his dress uniform. The back of the card includes a prayer and printed text: "In loving memory of | Robert J. Crawford | April 1, 1939 | September 11, 2001."
- Historical Notes
- Lifelong Brooklyn resident Robert Crawford lived with his wife, Dorothea. The couple had raised five children. Robert enjoyed playing with his granddaughter and her Barbie dolls. During more than 32 years as an FDNY firefighter, Robert also raised funds for a local cancer hospital. On September 11, Firefighter Crawford of Safety Battalion 1 responded to the World Trade Center. He was 62 years old.

This prayer card was left on the S-18 parapet of the South Pool on the 9/11 Memorial for Robert James Crawford in 2015, date unknown.
