- 2001 Official Los Angeles Kings hockey uniform jersey. The jersey is white and dark purple with gray and black details. The LA Kings logo is embroidered in the center of the jersey, depicting a purple shield with crossed hockey sticks and a crown, sun, and lion holding a hockey stick. "Los Angeles" is embroidered at the bottom of the jersey. The jersey is covered in handwritten signatures of recovery workers and hockey players. Many of the signatures accompany tribute notes and/or include FDNY and NYPD affiliations. An FDNY uniform patch is attached to the upper left sleeve.

Two professional scouts for the Los Angeles Kings ice hockey team were aboard hijacked Flight 175 on 9/11. Mark Lawrence Bavis and Garnet Ace Bailey were heading to California for the Kings’ preseason training camp.
After 9/11, the team sent a representative to New York City who brought a Kings jersey on the trip. Members of the NYPD and FDNY signed the jersey. Some added notes of support for the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, or New Jersey Devils.
