Lapel Pin
- Description
- Lapel pin related to the 9/11 Memorial dedicated at Seaford High School created in memory of the Seaford alumni victims including John William Perry. The circular lapel pin is gold-colored and is engraved with an image of a Viking ship with five oars, one for each of the victims. Engraved text around the border reads: "SEAFORD HIGH SCHOOL | 9/11 MEMORIAL."
- Historical Notes
- Freeport, Long Island, native John Perry lived in Manhattan. He was an NYPD officer with the 40th Precinct and a New York State Guard first lieutenant. John also held a law degree and served on the New York Civil Liberties Union board. John was planning to retire from the NYPD to work full time as a lawyer. Off duty on September 11, Officer Perry responded to the towers. He was 38 years old
