- Miniature ceramic clown figurine from a collection belonging to Astrid Elizabeth Sohan. The figurine is wearing a sequined gold-and-green outfit and has a white feathered boa around its neck.
- Historical Notes
- Georgetown, Guyana, native Astrid Sohan came to the United States in 1971. She lived in Freehold, New Jersey. Astrid collected ceramic clowns and was known to indulge in chocolate and shoes. A tennis fan, she and her girlfriend, Diane, enjoyed attending the US Open. On September 11, Astrid, an assistant vice president at Marsh & McLennan, was at work on the North Tower’s 95th floor. She was 32 years old.
