- Historical Notes
- Mario Santoro moved to the United States from his native Argentina as a child. He lived with his wife, Leonor, and their two-year-old daughter in lower Manhattan and coached youth basketball at his church. Mario worked as an emergency medical technician with New York Presbyterian Hospital. On September 11, he responded to the World Trade Center with his ambulance partner. Mario was 28 years old.
