- Historical Notes
- Brooklyn native Daniel Suhr lived in Rockaway Park, Queens, with his wife, Nancy, and their two-year-old daughter. Daniel was a firefighter with FDNY Engine Company 216. He had played football in college and continued on the FDNY team. He also coached the sport at a local high school. On September 11, Firefighter Suhr responded to the World Trade Center with his unit. He was 37 years old.
