- Replica of a child's hand puppet belonging to Francis Esposito. The puppet is wearing a red coat and a red fabric fire helmet.
- Historical Notes
- Staten Island native Francis Esposito lived in Tottenville with his wife, Dawn. In 1999, he achieved three of his longtime dreams. In the same month, he got married, bought a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and became an FDNY firefighter. On September 11, Firefighter Esposito responded to the World Trade Center with his unit, Engine Company 235. He was 32 years old.
Curator's Comment
Francis used a similar hand puppet to entertain children when he participated in parades with his FDNY company.
