- Memorial patch created in memory of Francis Esposito. The patch is a red, yellow, and white Maltese cross with an old-fashioned horse-drawn fire carriage embroidered in the center with "THE EYE OF BED STUY" embroidered below. "ENGINE 235" is embroidered at the top, "FDNY" on the right side, "57 | BATTALION" on the bottom, and "BROOKLYN" on the left side.
- Historical Notes
- Staten Island native Francis Esposito lived in Tottenville with his wife, Dawn. In 1999, he achieved three of his longtime dreams. In the same month, he got married, bought a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and became an FDNY firefighter. On September 11, Firefighter Esposito responded to the World Trade Center with his unit, Engine Company 235. He was 32 years old.
