- Description
- Memorial plaque created in memory of George DiPasquale. The plaque is a wood Maltese cross with DiPasquale's portrait photograph in the center. "FDNY | LADDER 2" is printed in gold-colored text in the top crossbar, and "FIREFIGHTER | GEORGE DiPASQUALE" is printed in the bottom crossbar. The image of a hook and ladder is in the left crossbar and a fire hydrant is depicted in the right crossbar.
- Historical Notes
- Paterson, New Jersey, native George DiPasquale lived in Elm Park, Staten Island, with his wife, Melissa, and their one-year-old daughter. An elder in his Jehovah’s Witness congregation, George was a man of strong faith, inspiring his fellow firefighters in FDNY Ladder Company 2 to call him Holy Man. On September 11, Firefighter DiPasquale responded to the World Trade Center. He was 33 years old.
