Memorial Card
- Description
- Memorial card created in memory of Salvatore F. Pepe. The front of the card features a photograph of Pepe holding a child. A woman stands with her arm around him. Handwritten on the front is "RIP Sal | Sam." The card has a punched hole at the top with a small string. On the back is written, "It was wonderful working for you. You will be miss[ed] | 12 2001 Sam."
- Historical Notes
- Bronx-born Salvatore Pepe lived in Elmhurst, Queens, with his wife, Catherine, and their young son. Every year, he gathered relatives to can tomatoes for winter cooking. He and Catherine also took an annual excursion to the Delaware Water Gap to stargaze. On September 11, Salvatore was on the North Tower’s 97th floor, where he was an assistant vice president at Marsh & McLennan. He was 45 years old.
