Prayer Card
- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of Patrick Dennis Byrne. The front of the card is an illustration of Saint Jude with text: "Keep Us in God's Love | as We Wait for | The Mercy of Jesus | (Jude, 21)." The back of the card features a photograph of Byrne with printed text: "Patrick D. Byrne | September 11, 2001," followed by the poem "After Glow." A zip tie is attached to the top of the card.
- Historical Notes
- A lifelong resident of Staten Island, Patrick Byrne lived in Pleasant Plains with his parents. Patrick managed his own roofing company starting in the mid-1980s. After passing both police and firefighter exams, he opted for firefighting and, in 1994, joined FDNY Ladder Company 101. On September 11, Firefighter Byrne and his unit responded to the World Trade Center. He was 39 years old.
