- Lapel pin created in memory of Leonard W. Hatton, Jr., depicting the FBI seal with the Twin Towers in front. “Zebra 24” is printed in gold-colored raised text on a black sash wrapped over the towers. “SA LEONARD W. HATTON | LEST WE FORGET” is printed in raised text below the towers.
- Historical Notes
- Teaneck, New Jersey native Leonard Hatton lived with his wife, JoAnne, and their four children in Ridgefield Park, where he was a volunteer firefighter. As a New York Division FBI special agent, he earned numerous commendations. Heading to work on September 11, Special Agent Hatton saw smoke and fire coming from the North Tower and joined the rescue effort. He was 45 years old.
