- Port Authority Police Department baseball cap belonging to Joseph M. Navas. The cap is navy blue with the PAPD Emergency Service patch on the front.
- Historical Notes
- Born in the Bronx, Joseph Navas lived in Paramus, New Jersey, with his wife, Karen, and their three children. In his time off, he coached his older son’s Little League baseball team and worked in his garden. An officer with the PAPD’s PATH Emergency Service Unit, Joseph was trained in rescue and counterterrorism techniques. On September 11, Officer Navas responded to the North Tower. He was 44 years old.
