- Historical Notes
- Born in Flushing, Queens, William Krukowski lived in Bayside. He had a 10-year-old son with his wife, Lisa. William’s interests mostly involved wheels. He liked to equip cars for drag racing, drove go-carts with his son, and often rode his bicycle to work in FDNY Ladder Company 21. On September 11, Firefighter Krukowski responded with his unit to the World Trade Center. He was 36 years old.

This shirt was given to Private First Class Krukowski during his training and was regularly worn by him.
