Handwritten note left at the 9/11 Memorial in memory of Lloyd Stanford Brown. The note contains three messages written on the back of a printed kiosk Memorial map and reads:
"I didn't know you well, but from what I remember you were a nice guy! R.I.P | Julissa Perez."
"I know you + my cousin are doing well up there. Rest in peace! We will never forget. xo Celly."
"Rest in paradise! Never forgotten! Amanda." - Historical Notes
- Born in Portland, Jamaica, Lloyd Brown had two children who lived with their mother in Texas and with whom he spoke often. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Lloyd went to college, settled in Mount Vernon, New York, and began working in equities management at Cantor Fitzgerald. There he met and began dating Monique DeJesus. On September 11, both were at work high in the North Tower. Lloyd was 28 years old.
Curator's Comment
This note was left on the N-29 parapet of the North Pool on the 9/11 Memorial for Lloyd Stanford Brown on September 11, 2014. The note was rolled and placed in the hollow of the name.
