- Description
- Recovered gloves belonging to Yamel Josefina Merino. The gloves are black with Velcro adjusting straps around the wrists.
- Historical Notes
- Queens native Yamel Merino lived in Yonkers, New York, with her eight-year-old son. At the ambulance company MetroCare, she rose from the transport division to be an emergency medical technician. She hoped to continue her education to become a nurse. On September 11, Yamel was providing medical assistance outside the South Tower when it collapsed. She was 24 years old.
