- Description
- Recovered wristwatch belonging to Yamel Josefina Merino. The watch has a dark-colored fabric strap which has torn from the watch on one side. The watch is dusty, and the time stopped at 10:05.
- Historical Notes
- Queens native Yamel Merino lived in Yonkers, New York, with her eight-year-old son. At the ambulance company MetroCare, she rose from the transport division to be an emergency medical technician. She hoped to continue her education to become a nurse. On September 11, Yamel was providing medical assistance outside the South Tower when it collapsed. She was 24 years old.
