Collar and Police Badge

- Black rope dog collar with a K9 NYPD police badge attached. The badge is metal and set within a leather fob, attached to the collar with a metal ring. The badge is an NYPD Detective shield with the name "ATLAS" at the base. The metal letter "T" is missing, and the leather is scratched and worn.

NYPD Officer Robert Schnelle and his canine partner Atlas, a German shepherd, deployed to lower Manhattan on the morning of September 11, 2001. Together, the two searched 7 World Trade Center before its collapse and continued to work at Ground Zero until the recovery concluded in May 2002.
Atlas held the rank of Detective, which can be seen on his collar’s shield.
