- Historical Notes
- Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s official schedule for September 11, 2001, was to have included a late morning staff meeting and time to cast his ballot in the primary election. Learning that a plane had hit the World Trade Center, he immediately left a breakfast meeting in midtown Manhattan to take charge of what he expected would be a major crisis. His official schedule was revised afterward to reflect the events of 9/11.
