- Memorial card created in memory of Kenneth Bruce Kumpel. The front of the card is a photograph of Kumpel with text printed below the photograph that reads: "Kenneth B. Kumpel | December 30, 1958 | September 11, 2001." The back of the card includes a poem and printed text that reads: "In loving memory of | Kenneth B. Kumpel | December 20, 1958 | September 11, 2001."
- Historical Notes
- Kenneth Kumpel was born in Schenectady, New York. A handyman, he often worked on the Cornwall home where he lived with his wife, Nancy, and their two sons. He also spent free time on the Hudson River in the family boat, known as Batboat. A 10-year FDNY veteran, Kenneth was a member of Ladder Company 25. On September 11, Firefighter Kumpel and his unit responded to the Twin Towers. He was 42 years old.
