Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan is inspired by the way people viewed the Twin Towers: always having to look up at their soaring height. This design would encourage visitors to look up again. The footprint of the towers would be surrounded by 3,022 flexible carbon fiber composite reeds, creating a garden of remembrance. When visitors reach the bottom of the site, they will would have to look up at the reeds just as they looked up at the Towers. Each reed would contain the biography of a victim, and, when the reeds touch each other, they would make music.
