A Living Memorial
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “A Living Memorial.” This design plan proposes inviting visitors to bring a stone to place on a large accumulating pile of stones located at the corner of the site. Visitors are also encouraged to take stones with them after their visit. In this leaving and taking away, the pile changes over time, becoming its own living being. The intention is for the design to evolve over time with visitor engagement.
