Flag
- Description
- Large American flag, slightly dirty.
- Historical Notes
- The Last Column is a 36-foot-tall piece of structural steel from the core of the South Tower. In spring 2002, the column became a canvas for memorial tributes left by recovery workers and disaster volunteers as they participated in the cleanup and relief efforts at Ground Zero. This flag flew on top of the Last Column before it was ceremoniously removed from the site on May 30, 2002.
