- Staten Island native Charles Margiotta lived in Meiers Corners with his wife, Norma, and their two children. He was a 20-year FDNY veteran assigned to Ladder Company 85. In his spare time, he worked as a private investigator, actor, and substitute teacher. Heading home on September 11 after an overnight shift, Lieutenant Margiotta caught a ride to the towers with Rescue Company 5. He was 44 years old.
