- Plaque from a commemorative cricket match in memory of Nezam A. Hafiz. The plaque is black with gold-colored engraved text: "September 2003 | Second Nezam Hafiz Commemorative Game | May This Plaque Be A Symbol Of His Enduring Memory | And May All Who Gaze Upon It | Be Endowed With His Wonderful Spirit | Semper Paratus." The plaque is mounted on wood with added gold detailing and an image in the center of two cricket bats and a ball.
- Historical Notes
- Nezam Hafiz was born in Guyana, where he played on the national cricket team as a teenager. He moved to the United States, settled in Queens, and became a member of the U.S. cricket team and captain of the American Cricket Society. Nezam worked at Marsh & McLennan as a computer analyst. On September 11, he was at his office on the 94th floor of the North Tower. Nezam was 32 years old.
