- Three-ring binder with "World Trade Center | Contingency Plan | Morgan Stanley Dean Witter" printed on the front in red with a graphic of a simplified street map. The manual was created by Cyril “Rick” Rescorla. The binder is dated December 1999 and includes numbered dividers for each section identified in the table of contents: Evacuation Procedures, Action Steps and Responsibilities, Communications, Senior Management Call-Down, Summary of Department Plans, Contingency Locations, Equipment and Essential Supplies, Personnel Directory.

- Richard Rescorla lived in Morristown, New Jersey, with his wife, Susan. He had two grown children. A retired U.S. Army colonel and Vietnam War veteran, Richard was Morgan Stanley’s vice president of security. On September 11, he sang “God Bless America” and songs from his native England as he directed the evacuation of thousands of Morgan Stanley employees from the South Tower. Richard was 62 years old.
Curator's Comment
As vice president of security for Morgan Stanley, Richard helped create the World Trade Center contingency plan and was responsible for enacting it in case of emergency.
