Shirt
- Description
- Blue long-sleeved shirt created for a memorial event held in memory of Dennis Lawrence Devlin. On the left breast of the shirt is a Maltese cross with a green shamrock in the center and "FDNY" in the top and bottom crossbars. "In Loving Memory of | Dennis Devlin" is printed below the cross. The back of the shirt includes an image of an Irish Claddagh with a heart colored like an American flag and "No Ordinary Man" printed in the center. At the top is printed: "Dennis Devlin Memorial Run," and the date "5-18-02" is printed at the bottom. "FDNY" is printed in bold red text on the right sleeve of the shirt.
- Historical Notes
- Born in the Bronx, Dennis Devlin lived in Washingtonville, New York, with his wife, Kathleen. They had four children. Dennis took many photographs and arranged them in albums. The last photo he added was a picture of himself in a helicopter, gazing at the Twin Towers. The battalion chief of the FDNY’s Division 3, Chief Devlin was at the South Tower command post on September 11. He was 51 years old.
