T-Shirt
- Description
- Blue T-shirt created in memory of Kevin O. Reilly. On the left breast of the shirt is a Maltese cross with printed text in the center: "L40 | KEVIN REILLY | E207." An American flag is in the left cross arm; the flag of Ireland is in the right cross arm. "Sept. 11, 2001" is printed in the top cross arm; "343" is printed in the bottom cross arm. "NEVER FORGET | Kevin Reilly | FDNY | 9-11-01" is printed on the back with an image of two angels comforting a weeping firefighter in bunker gear.
- Historical Notes
- New York native Kevin Reilly met his future wife, Jennifer, in high school. The two wed in summer 2001 and lived in Manhattan. Kevin had trained as a hydrogeologist prior to joining the FDNY in 2000. He played on the FDNY’s softball team and completed the New York City Marathon. On September 11, Firefighter Reilly responded to the World Trade Center with Engine Company 207. He was 28 years old.
