- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of George C. Cain. The front of the card features a photograph of Cain wearing his fire helmet. The back of the card includes the Fireman's Prayer and printed text: "In loving memory of | George C. Cain | Born Into His Earthly Kingdom | May 13, 1966 | Born Into His Heavenly Kingdom | September 11, 2001."
- Historical Notes
- George Cain was born in Woodside, Queens. He spent several years in Colorado, working as a carpenter in warm weather and skiing in winter. In 1994, he joined the FDNY and settled in Patterson, New York. He ran the New York City Marathon in 1999 and was training for it again in 2001. On September 11, Firefighter Cain responded to the World Trade Center with Ladder Company 7. He was 35 years old.
