Hard Hat
- Description
- Plastic hard hat with cap-style brim and interior ratchet suspension with a headlamp attached to the front of the hat. The hard hat is white with the logo for the Department of Design and Construction (DDC) on the front and a small American flag patch adhered above it. A label with text "WAMK?" is above the flag and another label with "RON VEGA" is below the flag. There are two label stickers on the top with text: "GROUND ZERO WTC." Beneath those labels are two yellow reflective stickers. The hat is covered in a variety of trade and commemorative stickers.
- Historical Notes
- Ron Vega, an architect, wore this hard hat when he worked at Ground Zero during the recovery period with the New York City Department of Design and Construction. Vega worked at the site from September 18, 2001, to July 12, 2002.
