- Rowing medal belonging to Robert Thomas Jordan. The medal is gold and hangs from a red, white, and blue ribbon. The front of the medal depicts an image of a crew team. On the back is another image of a crew team and printed text: "LONG BEACH | WINNER 1988 | CREW INVITATIONAL."
- Historical Notes
- Native New Yorker Robert Jordan lived in East Williston, Long Island, with his wife, Elizabeth. He rowed crew in college and had surfed since his teen years, when he spent summers in Hawaii. As an adult, he took up golf. On September 11, Robert, a partner and bond trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, was at his office on the North Tower’s 104th floor. He was 34 years old.
